Where to go Kitesurfing in February?

What better way to shake off those winter blues than a kite getaway if you live in the Northern Hemisphere, those of you in the South we’ll be admiring your tans and nursing sore muscles from all the warm water time you’ve been getting!

Most of the kitesurfing world heads to Cape Town in February, the King Of The Air takes centre stage, and the conditions can be incredible. If you don’t want to follow the masses the Caribbean is still on fire at this time of year and highly recommended, spots like Union Island, Barbados, Antigua, Aruba and the Dominican Republic can all deliver. Closer to Europe, Sal and Boa Vista can throw up some incredible conditions for wind and waves, not to mention sunshine and warmth! However, if you want to get off the beaten track, why not get out there and check out Saipan, over 84% of the days are windy in February. If you have never heard of it, you’ll find it in the Northern Mariana Islands chain, 120 miles north of Guam. Don’t overlook the west coast of Australia either, summer might be having its last gasp, but it is still windy and warm. Lastly, the Philippines can be good too, be sure to make sure a typhoon hasn’t recently rolled through!
