Oum Lamboiur is a well-known wave spot just a few steps from Westpoint Dakhla Hotel. Dakhla town is just 15 15-minute drive from the wave spot. North-westerly swells wrap around the point, producing a long right-handed break with hollow sections that run into the sandy bay. The northerly breezes can be tricky under the point but punchy and strong on the inside towards the beach.
The Weather
Dakhla has a dry climate at the end of September/early October. The air temperature during the day can be between 24C, the highest temperature, and the lowest of 18C. The water temperature of the sea is around 20C, so bringing a wetsuit is recommended. Sunrise is approximately 08.00h, and sunset is 20.00h.
