Ireland’s Off Shore Winds
Join Alan Kavanagh as he kite big waves in off shore winds in Ireland. Conditions like these are a rare find and Alan was lucky enough to have the place to himself on his Ozone Reo.
A place I can only describe as my back garden. An amazing untouched beach in Doonbeg, Co Clare, Ireland.
Sept/Oct brings off shore winds but rare. Only local surfers would know of its potential in off shore winds.
The odd few kiters would go here in on shore winds.
I have still to meet another kiter here in off shore winds!!
So when the right conditions arise the bay transforms into a mist of back spray from the lips at Turf Reef. An amazing view. It mainly spits out a breaking left. Judging this wave can be a little tricky but its all about patients in these conditions..
