On day two of the Visit Qatar GKA Freestyle Kite World Cup, conditions remained light, but there was a positive start, and the line-up for the women’s final was completed!
As the first event of the season, this event also marks the launch of some changes to the Freestyle judging format. A new variety score allows riders to add extra flow to their heat performances as well as inspire new tricks. We had the opportunity to speak with Alvaro Onieva, the Head Judge, and Louka Pitot, a skilled rider from Mauritius, to gain insights on the new format of the freestyle competition.
The GKA Freestyle-Kite World Cup will be running at Fuwairit Kite Beach from 31 January 04 February – follow the event live!
