The Airstyler has been around for a few years now, this innovative harness from North utilises a bladder in the back of the harness filled with air to maximise the fit. Other features include a fully integrated spreader bar pad, shorter hook for a more reactive feel and moulded “flexzone” areas for added comfort.

For best results you should put the Airstyler on as normal, and then pump it up to get the comfortable fit, the idea is the air fills in the areas of your body that are individual to you and not compensated by the shape of a normal harness. The comfort factor is very impressive, and the fit is second to none. The internal Velcro belt keeps the harness securely in place and we liked the oversized spreader bar pad which kept things comfortable. The Spreader bar is fastened using a V-style strap and buckle system and there is another spreader hold down strap on each side as well to keep the hook low. It is a very simple harness to put on, which means you’ll be on the water faster than your mates, which is always a bonus.

A handle-pass leash attachment point is on the back of the harness, with a ring to clip your leash too. The valve for the inflatable bladder is also neatly hidden away in the detailing of the harness but easy to access should you need to adjust it. We found once set up it didn’t need much attention.

Overall, A simple harness with a twist, easy to put on and tighten up, solid hook feeling and the added advantage of a very personalised fit with the air bladder.
