The Ion Strike Semidry comes in two versions, the skin or single lined style we have here and the double lined option. It’s a kite-optimised suit, comes with leg straps and flush panels to guard against elephantitis of the legs and the skin version we have uses a more durable neoprene to add to it’s durability. The single lined finish will still need a bit more TLC than your average suit though. ION use three different types of neoprene to optimise durability and flex and the finish is very good. The seams are glued and blindstitched to create a good seal.

On The Water

The suit feels very flexible and supple when you pull it on, and at 5/4 you would think you would notice the neoprene a little more, but it doesn’t really restrict your movement at all. The smooth skin finish on the exterior of the suit repels water like a tramp does women and we felt warm on even the coldest days. The drainage system and Velcro straps stopped any serious water ingression at the ankles and we didn’t experience any leg ballooning. The neck and wrist seals are also super secure ensuring you get a minimal water entry to the suit.
