The Neo D/LAB is Duotone's premium wave kite for committed riders seeking low weight, precise steering and controlled drift. It is designed around down-the-line surfing, where the kite must remain stable on slack lines yet respond immediately when redirected through a critical section. Duotone gives it the widest operating range in the Neo family.
Aluula Construction
An Aluula D/TX leading edge is combined with a Trinity TX canopy. Reducing weight while increasing stiffness allows steering load to pass into the canopy without delayed flex. The result is quicker, direct turning when the kite must be repositioned in a tight wave section or corrected under pressure.
Arc, Sweep and Drive
Changes to arc and sweep move the kite farther forward in the wind window. This position maintains down-the-line drive when line tension decreases, helping the kite stay engaged while the rider follows a fast face. The aerodynamics are intended to create smooth power rather than requiring repeated aggressive steering.
Drift and Depower
The stiff airframe holds its shape when depowered, reducing deformation and flutter. Cleaner shape retention supports stable drift in offshore or gusty conditions and keeps the kite responsive off the front foot. Torsional rigidity limits unwanted leading-edge flex during hard turns, producing a predictable steering path.
Sizes and Setup
The 2026 Neo D/LAB is available in 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 metre sizes, concentrating the range on commonly used wave-kite sizes.
Summary
The Neo D/LAB is a lightweight, high-response wave kite for ambitious surf riders. Its Aluula D/TX frame, Trinity TX canopy, forward-flying arc and torsional stability provide quick steering, broad depower, controlled drift and consistent drive through demanding down-the-line conditions.
