Jamie Overbeek has been a legend in the big air scene for some time. The Dutch shredder is always a threat at every event he enters, and in the last couple of years, he’s been free to choose whatever gear he wants to ride, opting out of the traditional sponsorship route. ROODE Boards are a brand that’s been developing boards for the last four years. Quietly testing and developing shapes until they had something they felt was ready for the masses. They’ve just launched their boards, and Jamie has chosen the Graphite as his weapon of choice. ROODE Boards, a young and independent kiteboard brand from the Netherlands, proudly welcomes Jamie Overbeek, one of the world’s leading Big Air kiteboarders, to the team.
With more registered jumps above 30 meters than any other rider and years of experience competing at the highest level, Jamie is widely recognised as a benchmark in kiteboarding. Just as importantly, he is respected for his uncompromising standards when it comes to the equipment he rides.
“A board is often seen as secondary to the kite being ridden, but that couldn’t be further from the truth,” says Jamie Overbeek. “I ride a wide range of kites, and for me, the right kiteboard is essential to achieve maximum performance. Through this collaboration with ROODE Boards, we have developed a board that performs consistently across different kite types and a wide range of conditions.”
The collaboration began unexpectedly on a windy day, when one of ROODE’s team riders spontaneously invited Jamie to take his ROODE SILICA kiteboard out for a session. The board’s immediate performance and feel stood out, marking the beginning of an ongoing technical development process.
The result is the GRAPHITE, a high-performance twintip kiteboard developed through extensive testing and direct input from Jamie Overbeek. Designed for riders who demand maximum control during takeoffs and landings, the GRAPHITE is the kiteboard Jamie will take into the 2026 competition season.
