Camdyn Kellet rides the FX2 for the first time since he broke his ankle almost a year ago! After he returned home from surgery, his 2022 gear arrived, and his fresh FXs were waiting to be used; and he finally felt strong enough to take it out for a session!
Unfortunately, the wind was super gusty, so I focused on having as much fun as possible and seeing how my ankle was feeling! I only started riding the FX2 now because it’s a tricky kite that takes a lot of effort to guarantee a soft landing – which for my ankle, is crucial to ensure I keep healing as fast as I have been over the last few months!
At this point in my recovery, it’s essential to take it still slow, and although my ankle is feeling good, I can’t afford to have a heavy impact on my board which could hurt the tremendous progress I’ve been making so far! Still lots of pain during and after kiting, but my Bio and Physio are happy and want me to keep kiting through the pain, and after a good few months, the pain will slowly fade away! It’s still a pretty stark reminder of the risks of what I’m doing, and it’s going to take a while to get rid of the mental blocks I’ve come across with some tricks. – Camdyn Kelley
