The Select SLS is Duotone's performance freeride twin tip for riders seeking speed and a lively response without giving up the comfort needed for long sessions. The official description identifies this model as the 2026 Select SLS, despite the current canonical URL containing a 2027 segment. Its design combines a lightweight SLS laminate with flexible tips, a comfort-oriented outline and detailed bottom shaping, making it less demanding than a competition freestyle board while retaining useful pop and precise carving.

SLS Construction and Dampening

Textreme Innegra and Biax Carbon create the lightweight performance structure. Innegra is used to reduce vibration and improve dampening through chop, while the carbon layers provide a quick, responsive release and maintain structural precision. Duotone describes the board as soft to medium in flex, with a Cross Slit Core helping the tips move more freely. This construction is intended to absorb impacts and surface disturbance without making the board feel disconnected under load.

Outline, Flex and Planing

The Performance Outline is slightly longer than a traditional equivalent size, increasing low-end support and smoothing the ride through uneven water. Duotone advises riders accustomed to a shorter conventional shape to consider the longer Select sizing so the outline can deliver its intended benefits. Absorption Flex Tips work with the scoop rocker: the board remains relatively flat for early planing in lighter wind, then the tips flex to add control when speed and wind increase. Space Flex combines a stiff outer frame with flexible tip sections, supporting clean water release, carving and reduced swing weight.

Grip and Bottom Shape

A new Double Concave Bottom channels water along two defined paths to improve grip, stability and pop while maintaining smooth planing. Angled rails add heel-side bite, supporting upwind drive and a more decisive release for jumps. Tip channels reinforce stability through turns and landings. Torsion Flex allows controlled twist along the board, helping the heel-side edge engage while keeping transitions and landings smoother than a uniformly rigid construction.

Sizes and Specifications

The Select SLS range includes 135 x 39 cm, 138 x 40 cm, 141 x 41 cm and 144 x 42 cm. Suggested rider weights are 55–75 kg, 70–85 kg, 75–90 kg and above 85 kg. The two smaller sizes use S-Bend FS 4.5 Glass 15 fins; the larger sizes use S-Bend FS 5.0 Glass 15 fins. Published weights are approximately 2.216 kg, 2.330 kg, 2.464 kg and 2.580 kg, with a stated five per cent tolerance.

Riding Character

The Select SLS is designed to plane early, track efficiently upwind and carve smoothly while retaining enough response for hooked freestyle and jumps. Its soft flex, damped laminate and flexible tips favour comfort, but the carbon construction and angled rails prevent it from becoming vague. It is suitable for progressing riders and experienced freeriders who want a fast, light board that remains manageable in chop.

Summary

The 2026 Select SLS is a lightweight performance freeride board balancing comfort with responsive handling. Textreme Innegra, Biax Carbon, Space Flex, Absorption Flex Tips, angled rails and a Double Concave Bottom support early planing, upwind efficiency, smooth carving and controlled pop across varied conditions.
