The TS Freestyle SLS is Duotone's competition-focused freestyle twin tip for advanced riders concentrating on powered unhooked tricks, technical passes and repeatable landings. It is designed to pair particularly closely with the Vegas or Dice SLS and uses a stiff, boot-oriented platform rather than the softer flex and broader comfort emphasis of a general freeride board. Duotone positions it for riders who need strong edge loading, an explosive release and controlled slack while linking complex manoeuvres.
SLS Construction and Flex
Biax Carbon and Textreme Innegra form the principal performance laminate. The carbon contributes a direct, responsive release, while the lightweight Innegra fibres are intended to add durability and damp vibration without making the board unnecessarily heavy. Duotone's Suspension Flex Cap creates a very stiff centre with reinforced tip frames and high torsional stiffness. This arrangement limits reverse flex on heavy landings and keeps the stance comparatively level when ridden with boots. The board uses Duotone's hard flex specification, prioritising immediate response, consistent pop and precise control over the compliance expected from an everyday freeride design.
Bottom Shape and Grip
A Step Double Concave Wide Channel bottom directs water through pronounced concaves and channels. This geometry is intended to produce substantial grip and a defined release, with or without fins, while remaining stable through rough water and powered touchdowns. Deep tip channels reinforce the edge hold needed to load against the kite before take-off. The Single Diffusor Bottom routes water from the central concave into the tip channels, helping the board track cleanly and dissipate landing energy. Duotone says this shape is particularly suited to high-speed landings in boots, where stability and a predictable recovery are important.
Stance and Riding Focus
Inline sliders provide a stance layout optimised for boots. Together with the stiff centre and controlled torsion, they are intended to keep the rider connected to the edge through loading and prevent unwanted deformation during technical trick sequences. The board's emphasis is unhooked freestyle, although its grip and pop also support hooked manoeuvres. It is a specialised choice: riders seeking relaxed cruising or a soft ride through chop are better served by a more forgiving model, whereas the TS Freestyle SLS is tuned around competition-level response and durability under repeated hard use.
Sizes and Specifications
The range comprises 136 x 40 cm, 140 x 41.5 cm and 144 x 43 cm. Duotone associates these sizes with rider weights of 55–70 kg, 65–85 kg and above 80 kg respectively. Every size uses S-Bend WK 3.5 Glass 15 fins. Published board weights are approximately 3.09 kg, 3.14 kg and 3.30 kg, with a stated manufacturing tolerance of plus or minus five per cent. The progressive width and length allow riders to select additional planing area and landing support without changing the board's core freestyle character.
