Flysurfer Era

The WCKA holds a school competition named after the student who won the previous quarter’s competition every quarter. Students can test their limits through healthy competition, and sportsmanship is emphasised to increase cooperation and facilitate team building.

The Lukas Hanson Invitational 2022 took place in the tidal lagoon that forms in the Trairi river mouth. This small spot is only rideable for four riders, an hour on either side of high tide. Jackpot. This was the perfect space for a four-person competition heat and the time to run our competition.

With signal flags made of an assortment of items – Polly’s exercise band (red), Simons’s kite bag (yellow) and Alex’s yoga mat (green) – the action ensued.

Check out this wrap-up of the event.

Thank you to Toni Leidl for the edit.

Thank you North Kiteboarding for the rider shirts and podium prizes – a Hybrid Focus board and the Fix boot bindings.
