The TS Big Air SLS is Duotone's dedicated competition big-air twin tip, developed for riders who need strong edge control at speed, explosive take-offs and dependable landings after powered jumps. It uses the firm, lightweight SLS approach rather than a comfort-led freeride construction. The design has been associated with Duotone's big-air team and is intended for ambitious riders working on height, rotations and technical aerial manoeuvres in demanding conditions.

Construction and Response

Biax Carbon and Textreme Innegra are combined to create a light and responsive laminate. The carbon is intended to transfer loading energy efficiently into take-off, while Innegra contributes dampening and structural resilience with limited additional weight. A hard flex specification keeps the platform direct when edging aggressively and gives the board a quick release. The Suspension Flex Cap stiffens the centre and reinforces the tip frames, reducing reverse flex when the board is loaded or lands heavily. This structure aims to preserve a predictable connection between the rider's input and the edge.

Rocker, Outline and Upwind Drive

The Double Rockerline Concept channels water along two defined rocker lines. Duotone uses this geometry to increase grip and support a powerful, clean take-off while also improving upwind drive. Torsion Flex allows controlled twist along the board so the heel-side edge can engage without making the whole platform feel locked. The updated outline is shaped around high-speed control and a dependable release. These elements work together to help the rider hold an edge against substantial kite power, build load and convert it into vertical lift rather than losing traction prematurely.

Fins and Landing Control

Angled fins add directional grip for take-off and powered manoeuvres. The fin angle is intended to reinforce tracking and control without relying solely on a deep rail. A Double Diffusor Bottom manages water flow and spreads impact on landing, helping the board remain composed as it reconnects with the surface. The combination of bottom shaping, firm flex and the Suspension Flex Cap is designed to reduce unwanted deformation and provide a stable platform for recovering from rotations or redirecting the kite after a jump.

Sizes and Specifications

The TS Big Air SLS is offered in 133 x 39 cm, 136 x 40 cm and 139 x 41 cm. Duotone lists indicative rider ranges of 50–85 kg, 70–85 kg and 80–95 kg. The 133 and 136 use S-Bend FS 4.5 Glass 15 fins, while the 139 uses the larger S-Bend FS 5.0 Glass 15 set. Published board weights are approximately 2.30 kg, 2.50 kg and 2.70 kg, subject to a stated tolerance of plus or minus six per cent. The three options provide progressively more area and landing support while preserving the same big-air design priorities.

Summary

The TS Big Air SLS is a firm, lightweight competition board for riders prioritising edge hold, vertical take-off and controlled high-impact landings. Its carbon and Innegra construction, Double Rockerline, angled fins, Suspension Flex Cap and Double Diffusor Bottom create a specialised platform for powered big-air progression rather than relaxed all-round cruising.
