The other day I got a call from Sam Light, early in the morning, so I knew something was up! The forecast was finally here for sending a kite foil rounding of The Isle of Wight ( #TheActiveIsland ). I cancelled the schedule and headed over to Cowes to launch and meet him in the solent to start the round the island bid. We had a safety meeting at Hurst Castle to The Needles and then a second boat meeting us at Bembridge to make sure safe passage around the island.
It was an epic mission a a great day on the water! It took around 5.30 hours with an average speed of around 16mph on the Duotone Spirit 720 wing. I went for the cruise ride with no emphasis on speed to make it as comfortable as possible. As the 100 mile rounding was a big undertaking. Super happy to have done it, one more tick off the #bucketlist!
