At A Glance
The Choice from Core is a full on high tech freestyle and freeride board for demanding riders who are looking for the ultimate in performance. It is built using CARTAN® carbon which provides unrivalled torsional stiffness whilst also being exceedingly light. The Choice has been designed with bindings in mind too, special inserts have been used to cope with the extra stress and ensure they never pull out. The tips of the board are certainly eye catching, the concertina effect is there to provide stability whether you are riding with fins or without. It comes complete with 42cm G10 Pro fins and the excellent Core straps and pads.
On The Water
Explosive is a good word to describe this board; it has a stiff mid section that really allows you to drive the edge hard into the water. The immense torsional stiffness created by the special CARTAN® lay up ensures no energy is lost whatsoever and when you release the edge the pop that the Choice creates is quite startling. It’s a controlled board too though, the channelling on the underside offers plenty of grip and keeps the board tracking nicely, even without fins. In flat water this board is a real rocket ship with lots of speed and the rocker line working well to make it fast and aggressive. Upwind is excellent with plenty of bite from the edge and the 42cm fins provide a nice balance with upwind ability and grip coupled with manoeuvrability for moves like surface passes.
Overall
The Choice is just that, a great choice for the advanced riders out there looking for something that can take them to the next level. Loads of pop, plenty of grip even without fins and a blistering top end speed!
