You know that Progression video that you’ve watched over and over? The one that helped you through the most difficult steps in your kiteboarding journey? Have you ever wished that you could bring the video player with you to the beach? Now you can! Progression is launching a new program, Progression Live, with a kite foil clinic in Langebaan, South Africa this winter. Continue reading to learn more from Progression.

Are you keen to learn to foil? Or looking to improve your skills? Want to crack your foiling gybes and tacks? Join Progression’s Rob Claisse and Airush team rider Danny Morrice for a week of intensive foiling coaching in the flat waters of Langebaan, one hour north of Cape Town, South Africa.

The course is for participants interested in freeride foiling, the focus being to get participants comfortably riding their foil upwind and downwind and then moving on to toeside riding, gybes, carves and tacks.

“Progression Live” is a natural extension of what Progression is renowned for – in-depth instructional videos, which have helped over 200,000 kiters learn and improve over the last 13 years. Using many of the same techniques and analysis, Progression will be working directly with the participants, helping them to progress quicker and maximising their own potential.

It was during the filming for the new Progression Kitefoiling videos when Rob and Danny were able to communicate constantly using the BBTalkin headsets that they explored new ways in which to articulate the concepts needed to better understand kite foiling. The pair truly grasped the subtle skills that kitefoilers need to learn and they saw the potential for their own style of kitefoil coaching.

They have chosen Langebaan as the location for the first Progression Live Foiling Clinic. It is the place where they themselves have seen some of their biggest steps forward in their kite foiling progression. Flat water and consistent wind offer the key ingredients, and better still the range of wind speeds (10-30 knots), that will give the participants the opportunity to gain far greater insight into foiling techniques adapted to the conditions.

Accommodation at Friday Island looks out across main beach and is only a few minutes walk to where the clinic will run each day. Although participants will need to have their own foil and board, Progression Live is excited to have Airush Kiteboarding as a partner, who will be providing a range of the new Core Airush foils and boards for participants to demo, alongside a selection of Airush kite surfboards.

More information on the Progression Live Foiling Clinic can be found on their website.
