At a Glance

The Recoil has been in the Liquid Force line up for some time, it is their staple do-it-all board, suitable for beginners and experts alike. It uses a PVC composite core which is lightweight and also prices the board at a good level. Don’t think of the Recoil though as a low cost younger brother to some of the other boards in the range. It is still packed with technology. The core is milled to give the top deck its unique shape. This shaping helps put the flex in the right places and gives you some handy grab rails. The footstraps and pads from Liquid force have been setting standards for years now and the Recoil comes fully equipped. It also has 2 inch G10 fins which finish the package off nicely.

On the Water

The Recoil is a very smooth comfy ride, perfectly happy blasting in flat water the board speed is impressive. Put the Recoil in some chop and it it still performs; the smooth flex pattern ironing out the bumps and the shaped tips preventing buckets of water from being chucked in your face. Upwind the board tracks nicely and the rails really bite and give you plenty of grip to edge against. Pop is good and while this board can be ridden by beginners and experts alike don’t think it is any kind of slouch when it comes to leaping from the water.

For

A great all round freeride board with plenty of performance under the bonnet. This is truly a board you could learn with and then keep riding throughout your kitesurfing career!

Against

As a free ride board we couldn’t really find fault with it. It won’t set your world on fire, but then Liquid Force have other boards in the range for that.

Overall

The perfect board for the rider that enjoys a little bit of everything, the recoil enjoys riding in chop and flat water and comes well equipped for every occasion and just about every kind of rider.
