The Cabrinha Stylus 2026 is a dedicated light-wind twin tip designed to plane early, carry speed and travel efficiently upwind when kite power is limited. It is the most specialised board in Cabrinha’s twin-tip range, using a wide outline, low rocker and large surface area to turn marginal conditions into usable sessions. Its shaping is focused on threshold-wind performance rather than trying to cover powered freestyle or heavy-wind riding.
Early-planing platform
A low-rocker, high-speed profile reduces the energy required to bring the board onto the plane. The wide outline creates additional lift and usable area, allowing the rider to maintain momentum through light patches. Bevelled tips manage spray and improve control when marginal wind is accompanied by chop, while a stiff tip platform supports efficient tracking rather than allowing energy to disappear through excess flex.
An A-grade paulownia wood core provides the main structure. Unidirectional basalt reinforcement supports the low rocker line and helps preserve the board’s efficient shape under load. Thickness and reinforcement are concentrated underfoot and towards the tips, producing the strength required by a large board without abandoning the responsive connection needed for directional control.
Channels and stance
A single concave through the centre promotes fast, early planing. Centre rail channels add edging capability, and tip channels improve directional stability when water pressure is low. These contours allow the board to grip and travel upwind without relying solely on large fins or aggressive rider input.
The Stylus uses an asymmetrical stance selected to improve grip, control and the rider’s centre of gravity during light-wind planing. Long rail channels help lock the board into its course, allowing the rider to do less corrective work while conserving kite power. Cabrinha supplies the board with 50mm fins, a handle and screws.
Sizes and pairing
The Stylus is available in 150cm and 160cm sizes. Both are substantially larger than conventional all-round twin tips, reflecting the board’s singular light-wind purpose. The appropriate choice depends on rider weight and the severity of the marginal conditions, with the 160cm providing the greatest planing area.
Cabrinha suggests pairing the board with a light-wind kite such as the Moto XL. In that combination, the kite provides efficient low-end drive while the Stylus converts it into early planing and upwind movement. The board is intended for riders who frequently encounter light or moderate winds and want a purpose-built alternative to waiting for stronger conditions.
Both sizes include 50mm fins, a handle and screws, adding secure tracking to the channelled base. Once the board is planing, its efficient outline can reduce the need to work the kite continuously, helping preserve speed through brief lulls and making limited power easier to use.
