We are proud to be voted Kite Brand of the Year by the American Wind Sports Industry (AWSI) at the annual 2018 Board Sports Expo in Hood River, Oregon. The awards evening took place in the basement of Hood River’s Elks Lodge among an audience of the industries leading insiders and pioneers to celebrate the 2018 product year. Airush came out on top winning the prestigious title of Kite Brand of the Year.
Along with a few great campaigns, the highlight of our 2018 year was the release of our biggest video feature, What’s in a Name, which gives the audience a glimpse into the design work taking place in the Cape Town office, our hands-on approach to innovation, and the rigorous product testing that helps place us as a brand.
Going forward, we are absolutely frothing for the year ahead with a solid team and some epic product releases that we are super excited about. Our full 2019 collection is online now, with a few of our campaigns having been released already.
Having launched just yesterday, we have the Union v4 with a refined shape and completely new feel thanks to the all-new fixed bridle configuration, with a great product clip shot in Hood River with our team rider and colleague Sam Medysky.
After a very successful first year on the market, a new and improved version of our lightest kite ever produced, the Ultra v2 was released onto the market mid-July. The light weight and stability of the Ultra v2 have opened up places we could never have kited, in marginal conditions we would not have considered kiteable.
For the wave riders out there, we have a few exciting new features on our Wave kite. New to the Wave v8, is the option of riding the kite on a fixed bridle system, which now allows riders to pick between more direct steering and on-off power delivery without pulleys or a smooth and progressive ride with amazing gust response using the tried and tested Airush pulleys.
