The IKA Moose 2017 Asian TT:R Kiteboarding Championships & KTA Freestyle X (12-18 March) will be opening the IKA’s and KTA’s account for the year, and it promises to be a dynamic package as the event features for the first time the new YOG Olympic format for TT:R combined, along with the explosive KTA Freestyle X.
The first event of the year comes with a great prize package also – a cash prize purse of 200,000 THB courtesy the title sponsors Moose combined with $12,000 USD of equipment prizes from Cabrinha.
Pak Nam Pran is situated about 30km south of Hua Hin on the Gulf of Thailand and is part of the district of Pranburi. March is one of the best wind and weather times for the location, with wind strengths averaging between 12 – 20 knots. The beach itself is long, with fine sand. The beach is peaceful during the week, and it’s the place to be during the weekends for the Thai beach lovers and all the kiters of course. Out on the water, Pak Nam Pran is great for the racers. Out back and close in, the sandbars that appear that time of year will create perfect flat water sections for the Freestyle X riders.
The IKA Asian TT:R Championship week will be led on the first weekend by the Kitesurf Association of Thailand’s first national series event of the season, ensuring strong support from the local riders as well as the international competitors. Follow this link to learn more.
With all this plus an event village to check out during the day, the KTA Kite Cable to ride and chill out at in the evenings and the Moose DJ nights, it’s going to be one not to miss.
