A couple of years ago Slingshot did something a little different, they took their board production out of Asia and brought it back to the US! It was a bold move at the time that took a huge amount of investment, but it allowed them to have more control over the manufacturing process. Proudly made in the USA the boards are some of the best around, take a look behind the scenes in this interesting short movie filmed on location in Hood River.
Every day Slingshot’s legendary products are put to the test by some of the world’s most progressive riders. No matter how remote the corner of the globe, our kites are flown and our boards ridden with the highest level of expectations. Located in the heart of USA’s Pacific Northwest, we’ve built our own factory in the heart of North America’s wind mecca, surrounded by water. Not only does It enable us to test, assess, and redesign on the fly, it gives the Slingshot crew, whose hands build our products the opportunity to make sure everything we create passes the smile test. After all, if it’s not a blast to use, why make it?
Looking in the rearview, fifteen years have given us our fair share of successes, but rather than give into the temptation of settling for ‘good’ we’ve chosen to focus on ‘first’. First to discover the next big thing, or first to make that one small thing the very best it can be.
The vision ahead is the same of our past. It’s a simple plan rooted deep into our core. We call it building the future.
