Cold Hawaii Big Air Presented by: CORE returns in September | Video Competition Opens Today

This fall, the northernmost extreme kite big air competition returns for the 4th edition. In Cold Hawaii, Denmark, the charming fishing village Nørre Vorupør lends a scenic backdrop for Northern Europe’s most extreme big air competition. The weather-beaten dunes, the wooden fishermen’s boats resting on the beach, and the majestic pier that frames the Cold Hawaii surf arena provide world-class big air conditions.

With strong western swells and winds, the unique surf arena gives spectators a full view of the action in rough and cold conditions. The waves and wind provided multiple world-firsts over the last three years. Cold Hawaii Big Air, presented by: CORE, returns for the 4th time in September 2023.

Enter Cold Hawaii Big Air Through Video Submission

The video submission is now open, and 12 slots for the competition are available through the video contest. The top 20 videos that get the most votes from the video contest judging committee arrive at the final selection. During the final selection process, the Cold Hawaii Big Air judges panel will analyze each video clip on the same judging criteria as in a live performance of Cold Hawaii Big Air. The top 12 videos will gain a slot in the event and be automatically invited.

The winner of Cold Hawaii Big Air presented by: CORE will receive 5000 € and a spot at Red Bull King of the Air as the event is an official Fly to Red Bull King of the Air qualifier event.

The Cold Hawaii Big Air event has an open window from September 8th-24th for the best possible Extreme Big Air conditions in Nørre Vorupør Surf Arena.

As the past two editions made history, we are excited to see what the 2023 edition will bring. In 2022 we saw multiple world-firsts, including S-loops with backrolls, front rolls and board-offs, and 2021 was the windiest kite event ever.
