Aloha Maui Kite Fest Ohana – Mark your calendars for the 2020 Maui Kite Fest! After the raving success of its 2nd edition, we are stoked to announce the 2020 Maui Kite Fest. The 3rd edition of what has now become the US’s premier Kiteboarding event will take place on June 11th-14th, 2020.
We’re also proud to announce that the 2020 Maui Kite Fest will once more be a “Fly to Red Bull King of the Air Qualifier” for the 2021 King of the Air, granting the winner of the Big Air discipline a coveted wildcard into the legendary Cape Town Showdown.
Last year’s Maui Kite Fest Big Air discipline winner, Cape Town’s very own Stuart Downey, took full advantage of his KOTA 2020 wildcard by making it to the quarter-finals landing a well deserved 7th place. And to no ones’ surprise Maui Kite Fest’s own Race Director, Jesse Richman, brought home the win crowning himself the 2020 King of the Air thanks to his massive signature air combined with powerful manoeuvres executed brilliantly with style and ease.
With these exciting results and immense gratitude to our ‘Aina – the sacred land that sets the stage for our annual gathering – the Maui Kite Fest 2020 is set to draw a whole new level of riders to compete, share the stoke and get their hands on the coveted King of the Air 2021 Wildcard, while also shredding in the wide variety of disciplines that are now classics at the Maui Kite Fest. Plus an exciting new add on as Wing will be making its debut in this year’s event!
Registration is now open for all disciplines, right here, so make sure to head on over and register to save your spot. Also, make sure to follow us on IG and FB for the latest event updates. The countdown is officially on!
