The Apex from ION is one of their top-level waist harnesses, aimed at the rider looking for the maximum support and minimal twist. There is a gold edition that utilises memory foam to increase the potential for a perfect fit. Other than that the standard Apex is the same. It’s a good-looking harness with a 3D moulded interior with dual density foams to give you plenty of comfort. The construction makes the most of ION’s X-Spine and Cross Link technology ensuring plenty of support.

The Apex uses a Velcro power belt to fix it to your waist, the spreader bad is then supported by a large v-buckle webbing system with an additional spreader bar hold-down strap. This gives the hook a very solid feel and the incorporated spreader bar pad makes it very comfortable to wear. The hook fastens using the excellent “push button” system, which makes getting the hook on and off very simple. There is a kite line knife incorporated into the spreader bar too.

Comfort wise the Apex gives you a very locked in feeling with no pressure points that we noticed. The hook is very stable and doesn’t twist or move even with the kite high above you.

Overall, Great looking, packed full of features and very solid and comfortable to wear.
