We’re very proud to announce that Jalou Langeree is joining Team Mystic! The 25-year-old smiling Dutchie is one of the biggest wave riding icons in the sport of kitesurfing, as 2012 World Champion. Jalou truly represents the core of the sport on and off the water.

Waveriding is one of the most purist forms in sport and delivers many opportunities for kitesurfers and surfers. Mystic teamed up with Jalou for improving both womens waterwear and lifestyle collections.

Jalou’s mission:

It’s my mission to make kitesurfing more easily accessible for women; it’s an extreme sport and is mostly men. This is not a bad thing, but it might scare women away. I’m a supporter for more women on the water and in extreme sports in general.

About joining Mystic:

I’m extremely excited to be riding for Mystic. It’s such a young and quick growing brand with big plans for the future and I’m happy to be part of it.

Mystic Marketing Director Max Blom about signing Jalou:

We are very happy to have Jalou on board. She is a great person, very professional and a great athlete. Women’s kiteboarding is growing and we believe specialized products will help growing that side of the sport. Jalou will work closely with our R&D team to improve the women’s products at Mystic. With her experience in the sport she has a lot of fresh ideas and knowledge to move things forward.

You’ll see Jalou competing in the wave discipline of the Virgin World Kitesurfing Championships this year, where she has started off really well by winning the first stop in Dakhla (Morocco).

Jalou is committed to helping grow the opportunities for women in kiteboarding.
