Years ago, back when dinosaurs roamed the earth kiteboarding was all about big air and board offs… The an asteroid crashed into the sport in the shape of wakestyle and suddenly going huge and performing a bit of aerial ballet was deemed no longer “cool”.
Trouble is most people like boosting huge air, it’s the ultimate buzz from the sport, the feeling of flying! Well Toby Braeuer of Kite Forum fame has been keeping that side of the sport alive, a little like a crocodile still carries dinosaur DNA around today. Thankfully for Toby it seems the sport has come to it’s senses and realised that actually, big air and style is pretty cool, especially for the spectators who can’t really understand all the techy freestyle the kids are doing these days.
So at the German PKRA Event in St Peter-Ording on the Jul-07-2012 big air and style makes a comeback…
No doubt Toby will be there to push the limits, if you haven’t been doing “old school” lately then check out this video to see where the standard has got to, you’ll need to be fine tuning your jiggery pokery to beat this man!
